The Bauhausmaschine was taking part in the 5 day MX Media Lab that was conducted by the participants of the workmodule “Raum in Bewegung” that was offered by Stefan Kraus in the summer semester of 2010. The class was training students for the participation in the DanceMediaAcademy, an experimental format by the Kunstfest Weimar that invites young dancers and media artists to work together. This years academy will use Henry van de Veldes famous Bauhaus building as inspiration and workshop at the same time. During the annual showcase of Bauhaus-University Weimar, the class was using the tower of Project- and Designworkshop Gaswerk as their temporary lab. Enjoying some of the hottest days of this summer students and tutors wired up laptops, videocameras, computers, synthesizers, midicontrollers and projectors to experiment with together. The Gaswerk was furthermore showing an exhibition of different alumni students of Bauhaus-University, among them the design office 45Kilo, that constructed a modular light augmented sculpture, that was animated by MXZEHN VJ 34tr for the final Party of Summaery 2010.
